Fire pump repair starts with finding why the set failed: a diesel that will not start, an electric pump that trips, a jockey pump that never stops, or a pump that runs but cannot make its duty. Until it is fixed, the sprinkler system behind it will not work as designed, so treat a dead pump as an emergency and ring us. Sentry Sprinkler Protection does this work across England from its base in Kettering, ISO 9001 certified.
Diesel fire pump repair: sets that will not start
Batteries at the end of their life, fuel that has degraded, a failed heater or a charger that stopped charging. We test each, replace what has failed, and prove the automatic start sequence, including changeover from a failed duty pump.
Electric pumps and controllers
A pump that trips or will not start on demand is often the controller rather than the motor: left in manual or test after a visit, a failed pressure switch, or alarms routed nowhere.
Those are checked first, because they are the quickest to put right.
A jockey pump that keeps running
A jockey pump holds system pressure. If it cuts in every few minutes, it is chasing a leak somewhere in the installation.
We find the leak rather than just replace the pump, because a new jockey pump on a leaking system goes the same way.
Tested under flow before we sign it off
A pump that starts is not proof of a pump that performs. After a repair the set is run and its flow and pressure checked against its duty, and the record updated for your insurer.

Questions about fire pump repair
Our fire pump will not start. What should we do?
Ring us: that is an emergency fire pump repair, and your insurer needs telling the system is out of service. Do not keep resetting a pump that will not start or keeps tripping: each restart can do more damage than the fault did.
Do you carry pump parts on the van?
Common fittings and consumables, yes. A pump part often has to be ordered, and we will say so on the call rather than after attending.
Do you repair wet riser pumps as well?
Yes. Wet riser pump sets are repaired and tested the same way, including duty and standby changeover.
