A pump that will not start, an annual service due, or an insurer asking for performance data.

A fire pump that starts is not the same as a fire pump that performs. Anyone can press the test button. Proving the set delivers its rated flow and pressure is the part that tells you whether the system behind it will work.

Questions we get asked
How often does a fire pump need testing?
A start test weekly, and a full performance test under flow once a year. Diesel sets need more: fuel condition, battery state, cooling and exhaust all get checked.
What is a jockey pump for?
It holds system pressure so the main pump is not starting every time there is a small drop. If your main pump is cycling on and off, the jockey pump is usually the reason.
Our pump will not start. Is that an emergency?
Treat it as one and ring us. A sprinkler system with a dead pump is a system that will not do its job, and your insurer needs to know it is out of service.

The approval UK insurers look for on sprinkler work. A system installed by an LPCB approved contractor counts as genuine risk mitigation on your policy; one installed by anybody else may not.
